I Just Keep Runnin', Forest!
I'm so happy with my time!! Just ran the Mahomet Buffalo Trace 5 Mile Trail Run this morning. I beat my time last year by almost 7 minutes!!
It is a very tough course! It was cloudy, but when the sun came out, ughhh it got hot! It was very humid this morning. Clinton came to support me at my race. That was really nice of him!
Today is going to be kinda busy. It's almost 11:30 AM now. I'm going to eat lunch here soon and then head to the gym to get my workout in. Then, come home to start spackling and painting an accent wall in the kitchen.
My quads are very sore from the race. I'm not sure how much of it is from leg day being yesterday or all the hills on the trail. Oh well! Thank goodness today is upperbody!! Cardio is done for today. I may use the Stairmaster for 15 minutes or so. I've seen a lot of gains from this machine. I used to think the Stairmaster was silly. *footinmouth*

I Spy With My Little Eyes...
I ordered new glasses today! I wanted something kind of spunky, because my last pair were pink Juicy Coutures. I lost them awhile ago. I really liked the pink glasses.
I choose these maroon/blush pink metal ones. They are kind of cat eye-ish, but I really liked them. The side that says MBMJ is a little childish, but I loved the colors of the glasses so much that I still got them. I only paid $26! I can't wait to get them!
I LOVED tonight's workout at the gym. It was almost empty and got leg day in quite quickly. Let's see how my legs feel during tomorrow's run. :)
Det er en Goddag!
Translation = It's A Good Day!
So...here's what I ate:
At 6 AM: 1 Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal (100 calorie pack); 8 oz of Hazelnut coffee w/ 1 tbsp of Hazelnut creamer (let's face it...this isn't going to stop lol).
At 9 AM: 1 Banana.
At 12 PM: 2 individual garden salads w/ 1/3 tbsp of fat-free french dressing; 57g of Post Great Grains Protein Cereal (Cinnamon Hazelnut).
At 3 PM: 56g of Ronzoni Fiber Elbow Pasta (plain); 1 slice of low-sodium, reduced fat Swiss cheese; 1 slice of Brownberry Country Buttermilk Bread.
At 6 PM: 4.75 oz of Baked Shrimp; 1 slice of Brownberry Country Buttermilk Bread; 1 serving of Stevie's Protein Rice Krispies (all gone now!); Kellogg's Fiber Plus Antioxidant Protein Chewy Bar (Peanut).
At 9 PM: 5.3 oz of Vanilla Greek yogurt; 12 oz of milk (soooo delicious!)
I'm not exactly proud of what I did at lunch yesterday, but I went to Monical's at lunch with a group of co-workers. My meeting beforehand ran over 30 minutes, and I was planning on eating during that time, but the meeting ended at 12 PM. So, I brought a serving of the Post Great Grains Protein Cinnamon Hazelnut Cereal with me. Once I got there, I figured I could eat a salad. So, I had two salads. This is the first time I've ate out in over 3 weeks. That's impressive, but I didn't want to go out to eat at all during my training.
My carbs were pretty high, but I had a very good session at the gym last night. It was Chest and Back day and I just felt like I got a lot accomplished. I only steamed for a little bit though because I had to make it home in time to eat my 9 PM meal. That might be why that cup of milk was so amazing. :)
I also made plans to paint my kitchen wall red this weekend. I think I will do that after I run that trail on Saturday morning. I'm also going to go to the zoo with my nephew and my sister. I've been wanting to go for awhile now, and it just seems like fun.
I'm also leaving work early today for an eye appointment. I might get my workout in early today, so Clint and I can go paint shopping. We will see!

Take Me Downtown
I dressed up pretty cute today! I'm sporting the pink slacks, blue & white striped shirt, and black flats. I also curled my short hair for the first time. I can't wait for my hair to grow back out. I cut it just to get it all one color...my natural blonde. I'm content with how I look with short hair...ask me that a few years ago and I would have shot daggers out of my eyes at you. :)
Here's my totals from Wednesday and what I ate:
At 6 AM: 1 Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal (100 calorie pack); 1 serving of Stevie's Protein Rice Krispies; 8 oz of Hazelnut coffee w/ 1 tbsp of Hazelnut creamer (ya ya ya...shut up.)
At 9 AM: 5.3 oz of Vanilla Greek yogurt, 57g of Post Great Grains Protein Cereal (Cinnamon Hazelnut); 1 Banana.
At 12 PM: 1 Boca Cheeseburger patty; 85g of Edamame; 56g of Ronzoni Fiber Elbow Pasta (plain).
At 3 PM: 5.3 oz of Vanilla Greek yogurt; 56g of Ronzoni Fiber Elbow Pasta (plain).
At 6 PM: Wild Alaskan Teriyaki Salmon Burger Patty w/ 2 slices of Pineapple (in 100% juice); 85g of Edamame.
At 9 PM: 5.3 oz of Vanilla Greek yogurt.
I've got a Business Team meeting today, and had to go to the store to buy Biscoff cookies and Pirouettes. Ergh! I have been eyeballing this Biscoff spread at the grocery store for months now. I think I'll treat myself to some after the competition is over.
I took my puppy on a long walk this morning. I need to start getting up earlier to do this. He makes me smile every time I am with him. He raises a lot of hell, but I love him. He means so much to me. I don't know how people deal with the loss of their dogs. They become such an integral part of your life and family. Here's my little stud this morning:

One Last Thing To Share...
I found this meme and OMG. it is so true. I just stare at my calves whenever I use the thigh machines because it's just so awkward to make eye contact while you're all SPREAD EAGLE.
Hahahah.
Hahahah.
More About Yesterday
So yes...I ate 2100 calories. I feel so shameful. Besides blaming a bad headache, I went wrong when I decided to eat 2 servings of plain pasta. Since I started weighing out all my foods, I've noticed how small some portions really are.
For example, the Ronzoni Fiberous Elbow Noodles I had were 56 grams per serving. To show you how much that is, look at the size of your palm, that's about as much pasta in a serving (laying down...not piled on top of each other). I think about Olive Garden and other Italian restaurants and how much pasta they give you on your plate. There's probably 15 servings or so! And not to mention eating a couple delicious, warm breadsticks. Oh god! STOP!
Another example of misleading servings is flatbreads. I buy Flatbreads/Pitas and it seems that every company markets them as being healthy because they are whole wheat, 100 calories, etc...But what you don't know is that a serving is only half of the piece of bread. But, it's so good that it makes you want to eat the whole circle of bread!
So, tonight, I did something different and did my workout at home. It's ab day, by the way. It's definitely not something I will do on the regular, but I found myself thinking it would be silly to drive all the way to the gym, just to lay on a mat and do abs. So, I shut the dogs out of the bedroom, laid out my yoga mat, and did work, son.
After I finished. I took a long stare in the mirror and saw something exciting. I'm starting to get V-cuts in my hips and lower ab region. I'm getting more overall definition in my stomach too. But, I can still jiggle if I need to lol.
This Saturday, I've got a challenging trail run in Mahomet to run. Last year, my BFF and I ran it together and thought we were going to die. It's a tough trail. I really want to beat my time last year. :)
Just all-around happy. That's all. :)

Whew! Glad Yesterday is DONE!
Yesterday was such a bad day for me. It was the first REAL headache I've had since I started this diet. One thing you may not know about me is that I am a complete wimp when I get a headache/migraine. I want to lay in bed, in the dark, and eat an entire box of popsicles. And I am not kidding about eating an entire box. It's the only thing that works.
So...I went to the gym for leg day and I didn't feel as if I accomplished very much. Partly due to the gym being full and every piece of equipment I wanted to get on was taken. I found myself waiting around to use things. So, I'm changing the time I work out to nights rather than late afternoons. This will help with getting my workouts done.
So, my totals are VERY BAD! I ate WAY more food than I should have...It wasn't necessarily bad food, it was just too much food.
Will post more later...Gotta run!

You're Fired, My Friend
This has been a long time coming, but I had to drop my trainer "friend" out of my life. This post isn't to talk bad about her, or anything like that. Training is a personality-driven business. When your personalities don't click anymore, working out with someone can be demotivating. What I think happened to us is that we didn't know each other when we started. Throughout the 16 weeks of training we did together for her show, we learned more about each other. There came a point where I started to realize that she was not the same person that I had met when we started.
She has tried to bring me down numerous times throughout my training (which I'm only in Week 3!) and I just can't have that in my life. I decided to confront her about the negativity and lack of support yesterday. I don't like confrontation, but I did it in the best way possible. I was calm whereas she was defensive and childish. There was even a portion of the conversation where she said "my friends told me I should have beat your fucking ass." I laughed so hard. I don't know how I missed the part of her personality where she identifies herself as some Jersey Shore piece of trash, but I also don't claim to have great vision. :)
I wished her well, handed over my key to the gym, and went on my way with a smile. I have a plan in place, and am still moving forward with competing.
SO! On to my food from yesterday! Here are my totals:
So, I'll be working out at the YMCA from now on, which is fine with me. The equipment is much newer. I'll miss knowing where I need to go and what I need to do with each machine, but within a week, I'll know have that all down.
On another note, Celebrity Apprentice finale is this weekend! I can't wait! I love that show!

My Weekend & My Awful Monday Morning Already!
I'd rather not list out everything I ate on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It's a lot of work to type it all out, so I'm just going to list my totals instead. I'll get better at this for the future, but this weekend was extremely busy. I'm not very proud of my last few days.
Friday:
Saturday:
Sunday:
This week, I'm going to aim for lower carbs. I've been relying on too much bread lately. It's very hard to cut out bread when you're a runner. Bread makes everything better! Saturday, I had a bachelorette party to go to. We did ugly bridesmaid dress paintballing, which was very fun! I'm the one below in the blue dress on the end.
I had an absolute BLAST playing paintball. My team won each of the three rounds we played. The first round, I got shot in the leg from pretty close up. I've got a pretty bad bruise from it, but it was totally worth it. I was one of two remaining in the second round. And, the third and final round, I won.
I went grocery shopping yesterday and got some more food. I think we spent $230! I hope this lasts a little bit longer than what I've currently been buying. I've been eating edamame the last few days with a sprinkle of onion powder on them.
Two things happened today that make me worry about how the rest of the day is going to go:
Boo. Today better get better. :)

VERDICT!
WOW!! Those protein Rice Krispies were really good. I shouldn't have made them. They are too good! It was very hard to just eat one. Luckily, I'm ready for bed now.
YUM!!
DOWNSIDE OF THE DAY: I weighed myself and I stayed the same as last week. But, I've noticed a difference in my body especially in this last week, so I'm hoping the fact that I'm bloated has something to do with it. Being a lady sucks some weeks. :). Not going to let it get me down!!

Protein Rice Krispie Treats
I made these tonight! I used gluten-free Rice Krispies, chocolate whey protein, sugar-free honey, and a little bit of peanut butter. I definitely have to cut them in half to be considered a serving, but they look & smell so good!! Clinton tried one and said it was amazing. I'm waiting until my 9 PM meal to eat one.
