KELLY CLARKSOOOOOON...

No lie...it wasn't that bad. The girl was really nice and explained everything to me. She talked to me the whole time which helped take my mind off of things. She actually gave me a discount too. I thought that was really nice of her to do. I'm going to book an appointment in about a week to have my eyebrows waxed too.
I've been taking it easy most of the day. I got my chest workout in this morning and spent the day worrying about the Brazillian wax. Come to find out, that was a waste of time!  :) I took this picture outside the gym because it was absolutely beautiful outside.

My glutes are still really sore from those kettlebell curtsies. AND, my chest is very sensitive right now. I think I overworked both muscle groups.

Starting tomorrow, my diet is going to be very restricted--only the essentials. I'm also foing to be working harder on the water consumption. Oh, I weighed myself today and I finally broke into the 140s. I should be another 10 pounds lighter, but I have to work with what I have. I was so excited to see a loss of 3.2 pounds. So excited that this lady at the gym saw me smiling as I stepped off and said "Man, I wish I left te scale with a smile on my face!"

I didn't get to Michaels/Hobby Lobby today, so I'll be doing that tomorrow. I've also got a softball championship to play in tomorrow night.

Getting Creative!!

Today was a long, long day at work. It felt like it was never going to end!  But, it finally did!  4:30 on the dot, I logged off and walked to my truck.

I had to eat dinner somewhat earlier because I was trying to fit in going to the grocery store and working out. I had a decent dinner:  plain piece of tilapia, fresh green beans, and a serving of egg whites. My total calories for dinner were 135!  I was surprised because it filled me up!

This is somewhat embarassing, but I have a habit of dancing in the kitchen with socks. I cant help it. It's so much fun!  While I was cooking my beans, I was playing around with my T-walk poses, and I created a sequence that I LOVED!!  It shows off my legs and triceps and it allows me to transition into walking to the next posing spot on the stage.  I danced even harder when I felt this click! I've been feeling so awkward lately with the posing routine, so I'm happy with what I've come up with!  Now I need to figure out the other side of the T, and my final pose. No sweat!  ;)

I went to the gym and got to work on my leg day routine. I added these kettleball curtsies that made my buns feel on fire!  I found a video of the exercise today, so I'll post it when I find it again. I put in some cardio time as well.

I left the gym and went straight to the grocery store. Managed to spend $115 worth of food...which will be gone in a few days. But, once I put everything away, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to eat at 9 PM.  I got creative and decided to make a smoothie.

I've got to brag here.  Sorry, I'm not sorry!  It was AMAZING!  Here's what I used:  1 banana, 1 serving of frozen strawberries (halves), 5.3 oz of Vanilla Greek yogurt, and 8 oz of milk. This made a lot!!!!  I put the rest in a container for tomorrow.  It was a tad bit thick, but I liked it that way!  I'm really impressed with myself. If I had some plain protein powder, I would have added that to make it even more amazing!  :)

We're getting dangerously close to show time!!  Jenelle sent me her meal plan for peak week, which I can't even describe to you how amazingly helpful she's been!  I can't wait to meet her!!  I'm thinking about getting her a gift certificate or something special.

Tomorrow is a new day!  I plan on working out early and hitting up Hobby Lobby/Michaels for some crystals to start the bedazzling process. Then, it's facing death at 4 for the bikini wax. I'm trying not to think about it. Anyways...I'm just overall a very happy girl tonight!  :)

PURE AWESOMENESS.

Where to start?  I'm feelin' the LOVE, yo!  I have some amazing friends, family, and coworkers!  I just can't thank you all enough for being so...awesome!

Last night, I met my friend Moira at Ulta to do some make-up shopping.  It makes me wish I had a million dollars though.  I'm very much a novice when it comes to make-up, and get scared at the thought of doing my own!  I bought some brushes and stuff.  We're going to meet next Wednesday to do some practice runs with the make-up.  I seriously can't wait!

I had a good workout last night.  There's a new guy who works the gym floor.  He came up and introduced himself to me.  He's friends with Phillip, the older guy that I mentioned in another post.  His name is Kevin.  I think I like that fact that the people who work at the gym know who I am.  It's this weird commraderie that I feel.  I can't really explain it, but I just feel respected at the gym.  Sometimes there's a D-BAG that tries to intimidate me, but it's very rare.  Earlier this week, some middle-weight Asian guy did curls right infront of the dumbell racks.  I stood there waiting.  Most people would move over so others can take dumbells as needed, but NOPE!  This guy enjoyed me watching him curl with pain in his face.  Get over yourself, dude.

I'm also very excited to announce that the hotel accomodations have been set in stone!  I started to worry because the hotel that was recommended by the show promoters had sold out, and another had returned our reservation due to not enough room.  SO, we're staying about 20 minutes away from the show in a nice Holiday Inn.  Everyone gets their own bed, so it'll be as relaxing as possible.  There's a pool, so my sister and nephew can go swim if they want to.  I made sure there's a Denny's nearby too!  I can't wait to sink my teeth into a beautiful Belgian waffle.  MMmmmmm.

Clean Food

I came across an article titled, "Clean Eating Grocery Store Guide" that did a decent job of listing out foods that you should buy from the grocery store, as well as foods to ignore.  While I knew most of the information within the article, it felt gratifying that I follow exactly what foods I need to buy versus not buying.

I really enjoyed the cartoons that the article had.  There is one about labels, and this is exactly how I feel when I go to the grocery store.  I sometimes have to catch myself from laughing at labels.  Recently, I found some tortillas that went waaaaaaay overboard with promoting it's healthiness.  After looking at the label, it was terrible!  I've found better tortillas that don't mention anything about being healthy for you.
For dinner last night/lunch today, I had a lean beef patty.  It's been awhile since I've had red meat.  I miss steaks...and all the other fixings that go with steaks.  Anyways...it tasted really good.  It's from a brand that prides itself on grass fed products.  It was expensive, but very tasty!  I don't think my coworkers enjoyed smelling my lunch today--but that's probably an everyday issue lol...sorry guys

I'm going to buy some stage make-up tonight with my friend Moira tonight after work.  She's going to show me the basics, and has some free samples for me!  Super nice!!  My sister also can do a mean smokey eye, so I might enlist her help on that too.  Things are coming together so fast!

Free Shit & Oh Shit

Did Lance Armstrong make those rubber bracelets popular?  I feel like everyone and their mum gives those out for events and such. I somehow managed to get three of these within one week. One from my G-Loves order, one from Chivago RnR race, and one from my Bodybuilding.com order that finally arrived.

I also got a free packet of protein pancake mix and preworkout powder. I mean when would I ever wear these bracelets?

So yesterday, I did something un-fucking-believable. I fell asleep after eating dinner and missed my entire leg day!  I woke up right on time to eat my 9 PM meal, but I was just shocked and upset with myself. I don't need to be missing workouts like that!  So, today I ran faster than normal and did some hill sprints. It doesn't make up for missing the leg day workout, but it at least got my legs moving.

Ummm...I'm in love with my G-loves!!  They are definitely different. I can actually feel the weights in my hands unlike my old pair of gloves that had a lot of padding.

Oh, and someone broke the assisted pull-up/tricep dip machine which makes me super mad. I've seen a lot of my gains in my arms from ending some of my workouts with a tricep burnout. I'm not strong enough to do pull-ups with my own body weight. The thought of doing them that way makes me have flashbacks to P.E. class back in the day--the only pull-up I could do was the first one because it included the jump from the ground!  LOL.

Today, I paid for my classes at Parkland this Fall. Now, I just need to buy my books. It's all too real...going back to school!  I need to go school supply shopping.

I think tomorrow I'm going to Ulta/Sephora with a lady from work to look at makeup for my show.

OMG!  How could I not start my blog off with not telling you guys that I booked my  bikini wax today. I'm not going to lie...I'm actually really scared of this. The appointment is for this Saturday. Eeek!!

Half Crazy

CHICAGO was a lot of fun this weekend. I continued my race day morning tradition of getting up early, getting dressed, and walking to the closest coffee shop. I got a small house coffee and tried to give myself the "poop talk."  You don't want to start a race needing to go to the bathroom...it's not fun at all. Of course, I couldn't go.

We drove near the race and parked. After walking for a bit, my friend needed to go to the bathroom. So, we used a Dunkin' Donuts as our victim. :)

I believe I finished at 2:35. I ran the entire way, except for mile 12.5.  There's a pretty good sized incline that I would definitely call a hill. I was on pace to set a personal record...At the 12 mile mark, I was at 2:08. I planned on running up that hill with all my force, but I got hit with shooting shin splint-like pain from my ankle bone to my knees on both legs. I actually started feeling dizzy like I was going to collapse. I've never felt this kind of pain running before.  So, I decided to walk. I walked for about 10 minutes until the Finish Line was in sight, and slowly made my way across it.

I'm not disappointed at all. It was a hot day and considering I got the time I did, I was happy with it. I didn't stop at every water station...I felt like I made good choices about when to hydrate.

At this race, you get a free beer at the end. From Week 1, I told myself that this would be the only beer I consume during my training. In the past, my friends and I usually drink beer and eat a cheeseburger after running. This time, the beer just didn't sound appealing. So, I cheated with something else. *GASP*

At the finish line, they were giving out small samples of smoothies from Jamba Juice. I took one because the only thing I could eat was a warm banana. It was so delicious that I told myself that I want a smoothie as my cheat.  After getting back to my friend's apartment and eating my 12 PM meal, I googled the closest Jamba Juice.  It was a 20 minute walk. I didn't know what the neighborhood was like, so I opted for Starbucks since I knew where that was and the walk felt safe.

I purchased a Grande Strawberry Smoothie and enjoyed every minute of it! I know, I know. I could have done much worse, but trust me. I beat myself up the entire drive home over drinking the smoothie--the whole 2.5 hour drive. I looked up the nutrition and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was. Regardless, I gave myself a pep talk and told myself to bear down this week and work harder in the gym. PUNISHMENT.

P.S.  I have to figure out why my pictures are so blurry on Blogger...Hmm.
P.P.S.  This is my 100th post!
